Context

BSI needed a digital flow for Hasanah Card applications

This project came from a collaboration between Privy and Bank Syariah Indonesia to build the BSI Hasanah Card Web App. In this setup, Privy acted as the application vendor, while product requirements and stakeholder input came from the BSI team.

At the time, the application process still depended heavily on manual printed forms. The team needed a more structured digital system for both customer acquisition and internal processing, while keeping the language and flow aligned with sharia banking terms such as kartu pembiayaan instead of credit card.

02

Challenge

The product had to support both admin operations and mobile applicants

The scope covered two sides of the product. On the admin side, the dashboard had to help teams manage incoming leads, monitor customer progress, and process submissions more efficiently. On the applicant side, the flow had to work for both existing and new customers entering from SMS campaigns or third-party acquisition channels.

The user journey also had multiple stages: onboarding, card selection, personal data submission, pre-submitted approval, continuation through a follow-up link, additional form completion, terms approval, OTP verification with Privy, and final submission review. The challenge was making that regulated flow feel clear enough to complete on mobile.

03

Approach

I simplified the flow across onboarding, submission, and review

As the UI/UX Designer on the Privy team, I worked alongside a PM and engineers to shape both the admin dashboard and the mobile web flow. The interface was structured to help applicants move from lead entry to submission with clearer stages, simpler form handling, and stronger feedback at key decision points.

For the admin side, the dashboard focused on lead and submission management so the team could monitor progress, review customer status, and reduce reliance on printed forms. For applicants, the mobile experience emphasized card detail clarity, form completion, validation, summary review, and OTP verification before submission.

04

Impact

The process became more structured for both applicants and admin teams

The product direction helped move application handling away from manual processing and into a more operationally manageable system. Admin teams could review and manage submissions in a more organized way, while applicants could complete the process online without needing to come to the bank for a manual form.

This created a clearer acquisition and submission flow for BSI Hasanah Card, while still respecting the requirements and approval structure of a regulated banking product.
